Ways You Can Make a Difference
The way you help can be as simple as recycling to as complex as converting your house into a renewable energy house. Whatever way you chose you are still making a difference. Universities took making a difference to a whole new level, with the renovations and changes they made to reduce their carbon footprint and change the fate of the Earth. Stanford University, constructed a plan to convert the entire United States into a 100% clean and renewable nation. This plan will renovate the old technologies and make them run off of electrical instead of combustible materials. It also states that some states are already in the process of converting and several have been using renewable resources all ready. The EUCI also has a plan to switch the universities across the United States to work off of solar energy. They chose this plan because it is less expensive than converting the entire United States to solar energy. The reason those plans are stated is because in order to get funding the universities would us the federal money they receive. This means that your tax money is getting used to make a difference, which means you are helping by just listen to your government.
Other simpler ways you can make a difference is to go recycle your plastics, cardboards, and papers. It will clean up the land fills reducing the methane emissions from the landfills. Plus, it will allow the trees to live so they can continue to absorb the CO2 from the atmosphere. You can host a tree planting day, where you plant trees with your community bringing it closer together and helping the environment at the same time. You can contact your energy providers and see if there is any way you can convert and update to new energy efficient devices and technology. A simple switch of your light bulbs can save at least 75% more energy, according to The Department of Energy If you are still in school, you can ask your principal or superintendent, what you recycle and, or, if you can recycle more that what you already do.
